The Birdsnest is that pink or do the lights make it look purple.
ok didn't know what you meant.
Most of the birdsnest I've seen are of pink or brown variation.Any suggestions on a light meter,par meter.

I use either 14K or 20K 400w halides. Never tested with a light meter, but if you look at the sticky up on top of the lighting forum, you can get to Sanjay Joshi's testing site. I don't have much PAR, but I ain't lookin for out of this world growth, otherwise I would be fragging every month.

I believe I read that,I meant where and what light meter could I get to test what lighting I have or do I need it.I don't think you would suggest anything I can't grow.
No Steve, I wouldn't. The only thing would be that you would have to experiment with the placement of them. And I can probably guarantee you another thing, the colors may not be the same in your tank. I have a friend of mine that has a 500 gallon, and we have the same stag, the body on his is cream colored and the body on mine is green. It all runs down to lighting. I really don't think flow has all that much to do with color.

I have read that lighting plays a big role in color,and water flow to the shape of a coral.

No,so thanks for letting me know.Where's that photo of the skimmer.I just tested for nitrate and to make a long story short,things are better.
