Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300

Ya I watched him for a while and actually attempted to assist once or twice but he is alot better at it than I was. Just remeber how the tank looked when he started tryign to catch them. If the fish wasn't at an edge you couldn't even see them.

Glad to here you are actually going to utilize the sump as it's meant to be used

Well sir it's time for me to slide off to bed and try to get some sleep. tomarrow is going to be a fun day, 210 miles and work waiting on me for the week. I'll keep watching you keep posting picts and we will all be anticipating the ongoing growth, you never know, one day you might be assisting me in a new build and stocking my tank once again.

    cya soon my friend

The setup is lookin' pretty darn good Charlie! Glad to see the pics.

I like the aquascape as well. I'm going to try and do something similar to that, but I'll have a DSB going though.

    But darn cool lookin'.

Yeah, I just got done dinking around with the flow in the back of the tank. I also need to get some 3/4" 90 degree elbow or 45 degree elbows for the mess in front. The more I look at that, the more I want to throw up!!!!

Looks like a trip to Home Depot is in order tomorrow on the way home, huh???

Are you talking about the PVC coming straight down in the front? I wondered about the appearance of that as well. Would it be possible to use some 45's that just break the surface angled back so they don't catch the eye so much?

That's what the answer is gonna be, but I am gonna buy both of them just in case my mood changes.
I am getting a bunch of micro bubbles from one of the drops, so I am sucking air from somewhere??????? I'll get it figured out, the motre I dink around with it, the more I will know. I am in that, don't touch anything, stage right now I think, just messing with what I know can't hurt anything.

Charlie I was honored to help you out on your tank. It was a good time working with Duane, Rob, Tim, and getting to know you guys better . I am happy with the rock Thanks for the great deal . I know in the future I will be setting up a 180. I may need a little bit of help, So I'll save some road kill, Light the BBQ, toss some beer on ice and have a meeting. It would be a little shorter drive for Duane, and well you and rob could go for a short road trip. I don't think my plumbing will be that extensive but I might have to find a electrician. The electrical looks great, that really cleaned things up back there. How does the clarity look now?

Ah yes, nothing better than a road kill and reef meeting. Can you do it in the summer though, I think we needed more windows open or something!!!!

No, I think that you could do alot with that tank, I will have to go back and see if I can't find the first plan that Duane and I had for that sucker.

Well the road kill might be a little stinky as it warms up out side , So I'll try to save some rib steaks. Do you want any jerky ? Yea see if you can find those plans, I'll be asking you and Duane, and Rob, and everybody else for advice on the set up for it . I would really like to see what you had in mind. That way I may be able to curve my budget a little in that direction.

A RK & R meeting, eh? (Road Kill & Reef) Sounds good...I'm in! That might be worth a drive or ride all the way from Vegas. I guess if I take my truck, I have a better chance of bringin' some "fresh" food with me for the grill!

Yeah, rib steaks would be great.
I looked around a little last nite and couldn't find them, but it isn't gonna be to hard to draw something up!!! I pretty much remember what the plan was. I will try to sit down this weekend and put it on paper.

Vegas to Montana, Well if you play your cards right and travel at night, you may do very well on the RK Charlie, that would be great if you could. That way I'll have a little better idea of what I am going to need

Re: Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300

Just an update. The tank has pretty much cleared up!!!! I will get some pics tomorrow, but I am still getting a bunch of bubbles out of 2 of the main returns. It may be the new plumbing yet, who knows. I am just glad the tank has cleared. My skimmer is starting to act like my skimmer again, which means things are looking up!!!
I am also going to take some tests tomorrow nite, the first tests on the new tank. I guess I have to see what my levels are before I get to adding anything, huh???
I still haven't gotten to the fuge yet. I have a hunch that this saturday may be a good time to attack that and tear the thing down and start from scratch, new sand, new weeds, new bugs................
I am gonna need a start, but I think Rob might have me covered on that.
    More tomorrow, OK?
