New to the site, fellow Montanan

Hey guys/gals, I just joined this site and am glad to see other fellow Montanans here! I live in Missoula and have been into reef tanks for almost two years now and like many others, had freshwater for years before. I currently have a 29 gal softie tanks with an easy LPS (candycane corals) and I also recently set up a 135 with a 50 gal. sump, vho t5s, and mostly LPS corals. I want to get into sps corals after the tank is a little more established. I also have a ten gallon quarantine tank as well. Thanks for reading my long intro!

Re: New to the site, fellow Montanan

Thanks! Are there any sw stores up north of Missoula? I will be doing some fragging in a few months and would possibly like to trade some frags in the future. I have a few different types of zoas, ricordeas, palys, gsps, tubastrea, and likely some favites. If anyone here needs any gsps especially, I have a big colony that needs a new home! Let me know if you have something to trade! I'm willing to travel within reasonable distance!

Re: New to the site, fellow Montanan

Sounds like we are gettinga few more people around from Montana!!!!!!!

Welcome Bullet, you are among more than a few fellow lovers of SW.

Also Cyn, nice to see more people gathering to learn more about a fun but extensive hobby.

If either of you need anything feel free to contact me and I'll help where I can. Charlie is the resident SPS freak, but I think he is watching races in Las Vegas right now. But I'm sure he will chime in soon.

Bullet, I recently move down to alberton so that the wife could go back to school and hopefully later pay for me to play but honestly I'm in your neck of the woods and would love to chat.

Maybe someday I can kidnap you and make a run to a meeting in Columbia Falls, I think you would be impressed with the knowledge in that little town.

Anyway, welcome both of you and don't be afraid to ask anything, we've all been there before

Duane

Hey there, welcome to our forum, and the site. There's a ton of good folks here with a bunch of good insight. Sorry I couldn't get around a little earlier, but as Duane mentioned, I just got back from Vegas. We would be happy to have you at one of our meetings, we need all the folks we can get.
As has been mentioned, we are having a meeting the 22nd at my house, hope you can see fit to get up here and check it out, I should have recovered by then.
I am sure you could get rid of a few frags up here that nite, heck, I might even be interested in something!!!!!
Come on up, but you gotta bring your own beer, I am sure that my wife and I can come up with something good to eat.

Why don't you just bring about 4-5 lbs. up Kyle, and we'll see what we have left?

Thanx, I'll get the buns.

Re: New to the site, fellow Montanan

hey Bullet,
welcome. if you can make it up to the meeting, i think you would like it. good people and good food. depending on the LPS you have, i too might be interested in a frag. i usually have something to trade. right now i seem to have an over abundance of a blue branching acropora. i also have pavona and if you have something real cool i have some awesome hammer coral.

any way, welcome to the group!

Re: New to the site, fellow Montanan

Thanks for the welcome everybody! I'm not sure if I can make it up to the meeting on the 22nd, but I will try to! I have a few different frags left of some green with purple mouth zoanthids, some brown with blue, and brown with orange mouths, and some pink mouthed micromussas, and some candy cane corals. I also have some equipment sitting around that if anyone is interested in, I would possibly trade for frags. I have a 29 long tank with oak trim, and a couple of 15 gal? I think along with two koralia 3 pumps. Again thanks for the kind welcome!
