Re: Next Meeting

Yes, it was a great time. Thanks everyone for sharing your homes and tanks with us. I've got everyone acclimated and in the tank (by 9:30 PM). Pygmy angel is hiding out but I bet she'll/he'll eat good tomorrow. She really got a workout today being chased around the tank. Kyle, thanks for having us and letting us tear up your tank!
Polyps are out on the pocillopora. Wow! What a beautiful coral! Thanks a mil Rob. What a beautiful tank you have. Makes my heart go pitty pat.
Will have to get up extra early tomorrow to see all my new babies. I'm so excited.
Thanks to Brandon for showing us what a really low maintenance tank looks like (pictures to come!).
It was a beautiful drive with the green pastures, snow capped mountains and turquoise water of Flathead Lake. I sure am glad that I live here!
And last but not least, thanks to Charlie for setting this all up, driving us down and allowing me to stay on my pedestal!
Can't wait to see the photos.
P.S. My 14 yo son fixed my camera when I got home by taking the battery out and putting it back in. Duh!

Re: Next Meeting

Just a quick update on the corals I picked up from Kyle and Rob yesterday. Both the bubble and the favia had their feeding tentacles out. Both were out within 1/2 hour after acclimation. The green millepora that I got from Rob is doing just fine, Thanx Rob.

Re: Next Meeting

Did you ever target feed either the bubble or the favia?

Re: Next Meeting

i don't but i use to feed the bubble. it grows a lot better when you feed is brine shrimp or something small. my problem is the fish think it is a food dish when i feed it and they take bites of the coral too... so i quit feeding it but it hasn't grown much either

Re: Next Meeting

Well, this is gonna take me about 4 posts to get through this, so bare with me.
It is picture time from our little jaunt down south yesterday, I actually started just down the road from me at Cynthia's house, and her 29 gallon.
Since I am posting these, and get to take free shots, that is not animal cruelty in the last pic.
Enjoy the show:

Re: Next Meeting

We moved all the way south down to Brandon and Jenn's house in Pablo, which by the way, is a beautiful little place tucked underneath the Mission Mountains.
The last pic is his amazing maintenance free 180. I am still having trouble fathoming how he has this tank setup???????

Re: Next Meeting

Moving about 5 miles west across the Mission Valley, we get to Kyle's place. It is really unfortunate that this beauty has to come down.
I honestly hope you don't sell it Kyle, and that it does get a chance to rise again.
Alot of us left here with livestock, trying to give him and his critters a hand in finding them a good reliable home.

Re: Next Meeting

After a stop at the local pizza place for some chow and a couple of beers, we headed back up the west shore to Rob and Julie's house in Somer's, MT.
I have known Rob and Julie for about 4 years now, and I have never seen his tank look this nice, congratulations Rob!!!!
This is a 500 gallon by the way, lots of TLC!!!!!!

Re: Next Meeting

While I am running up my post count,, I would also like to add that a few of us left Rob's with more than we started with. I need to take some pics this afternoon of my new additions, and I really hope that the Cyn and Brandon will also chip in later with their new additions also.
Rob, I hope your legs recover from being squished into the backseat of my F-150, Cynthia just wouldn't give up shotgun. We gave you a break on the way to your place.
All in all, a great day!!!!!
Thank you all.

Re: Next Meeting

Looks like I missed a great trip around the lake. Sorry I couldn't make it guys but I had prior obligations I simply couldn't abandon.

Great looking tanks everyone, and really nice to see Rob's once again. I agree Charlie, never seen it look so good.

Maybe next time.

Re: Next Meeting

You have another meeting like last summer and I'll be there with bells on. I will sit around look at you tank after a few months of seasoning, and besides I would be happy to sit around a camp fire and drink beer any day.

Re: Next Meeting

I will even try to get Vaughn's Saint Bernard over for another visit. Nothing like a good laugh.
I will try to get the campfire going a little earlier this year.

Re: Next Meeting

That was a lot of fun. If anyone needs ideas on a zero maitience tank, I can help. My new guys are doing great, I'll try to get a pic soon. Might have to wait till I put the bubble in. . Rob your tank is Amazing. Jenn is jealous she didn't see it. Maybe we can swing up on one of our Kallispell trips so she can see it in person. if you sent your number I could call ahead. HINT HINT
Cyn, You tank looks great too. The Zeny is going crazy, you could start selling it, make a deal at bobs .

Kyle I'll be over sunday, or maybe sooner If it rains..

Re: Next Meeting

Well Charlie if you get the fire going earlier than you better have a good supply of wood. the last time we ended up sitting there a while. I think I might have even drank a little too much. Of course thats relative

Re: Next Meeting

I was thinking of something like a fireside chat. Informal as hell, but you know darn well that any camp fire always holds the best conversations known to mankind. Throw in a few good beers, and a few burgers, and I bet we could have ourselves a meeting.
