Long time no see

Hi everyone I've been kind of absent for quite a while - things have been weird but anyway after being a mule for the home improvement store I decided I could do better and quit, took a vacation and now am at.......PetCo. The original manager is back there and things are looking pretty good and he will have me mostly back in aquatics (when they are not short a cashier) (since I saw Rob in there today I figured I better get in touch so people didn't think I went to the dark side - Oh Rob we are looking to see if we can get in that fish for you)

I broke down all my salt water tanks when I was at the other place as I really was just too beat with the heavy loading and goofy work schedule to work on them. Now that I am just a part timer (with side jobs) I am going to start working on them again.

My partner and I also have the Linwood Homes dealership but being construction the way it is that has been kind of slow. And I am a Passion Party representative. If you don't know what that is dont worry and if you do and want to host a party let me know

Re: Long time no see

Thanks Charlie. Mainly I just have to get things set where they will be and make it easier to run the RO unit. It was just too awkward how most were. And I have to replumb the big tank. I had leaks all over and I would fix one and another would spring up. So that is going to be easier to just do over. And now the the sump pump in the basement is fixed (think 18 inches of water - over knee high for me - nothing to do with the tanks) I can get to work on taking everything out of there and refinishing. It is just a bunch of grunt work but in the long run things wil be a lot easier to maintain.

Re: Long time no see

Gina, I would just go ahead and get new bulkheads, and like you said, start from scratch. Just make sure everything is good and clean before you start the installations!!!

Re: Long time no see

hi Gina,
good to see you the other day. sounds like you had a mess in the basement. i hate it when that happens one of the kids left a soaker hose running along side the house the other day and we had about 4 inches of water in the crawl space. my sump pump helped but it took a while for most of the water to just evaporate away. glad it was hot!!!!
after talking to you i called Kevin and he is holding a fish for me. i think my in-laws will be bringing it over soon. if i need something else i will stop in to see you.
good to see you back on the boards!

Re: Long time no see

The guys didn't have a copperband on the availabity list - but we have been getting some more interesting stuff in for marine and the tanks are looking pretty good. We do have all clowns @ 10% off if anyone is looking for them. We should have black ocellaris next week on that sale as well.

Oh Rob it looks like the sump pump wasn't working (somehow it wasn't plugged in) when we got that thaw and water just came in through the sump. I put my rubber boots on and it was over them so it was easier to just roll up the pants and go barefoot. Things floating everywhere. So I got in plugged in and Dad unplugged it and it flooded again. Dad put in a new one anyway which was good as the old one had two plug ins and it never seemed to be working right. So it is just get rid of a bunch of soggy stuff and start over. At least all the lights work and are just how I want them.

Re: Long time no see

It will be a ways off for this tank (re)build. I have a bunch of mold soggy junk (boxes of what used to be books and magazines) to get out of the basement. And I am moving my ceramics shop out to the garage. Then there will be some room to move around. And we are totally remodeling the bathroom so we have been concentrating on that. For now I am just going to get the 20 gal and a quaranteen going FO for a while.

Oh anyone want a kitten? I have a couple that need new homes - they will be going to get their operations soon and are very friendly.
