Hey Jase, you got any way of showing us a pic? Sounds like a great idea, but a pic would sure help out!!!
I have been thinking of how to get more flow in my tank, and have come up with an idea.
Right now I have my return on the right, and my overflow on the left with a power head kinda moving the water over there. My return was initially too much flow, so I have the pump throttled back just recirculating in the sump...
So I'm thinking about splitting my return to both sides of the tank, and moving my overflow to the center of the tank. Another big part of this is that nutrients and food from the fuge will be more evenly distributed (happier corals I hope). This being a 55, I don't want any real drastic changes... do you folks see a problem with this?

older pics, but you can see my overflow and powerhead, and the other shows my return.
And torturing you with my artistic abilities... the idea.

The sketch wouldn't display, so I was trying to figure it out, and noticed the file name had been edited. so I had to rename it "tanksketch" instead of "****"![]()

Is that a tang??????
Looks good, but I bet you won't want the double outputs on each side. What is your return pump again?

I think the big one is a puffer.... No tang. This ain't NASA.
The pump is a Rio 20HF which is supposed to be 990GPH at 4 feet.
What would you do instead of double output? I just figured it would help prevent dead spots...

You'll have to experiment, but I was thinking just the returns minus the "Y", know what I am getting at?

How would you angle/turn them? The hardware store doesn't have many options, ya know?

You can use PVC, just a regular 90 elbow tho. Point them right at one another and see how that works for a while. I used to have them like that in my 80.

I have a feeling the one that's on there would be a pain in the ass to take off, do you think a double there and single on the other side would work out? I'm thinking you know how water behaves more than I do...

Well, if that is the case, point the single right at the "Y", see what you can create. You will end up dinking around alot when you do this, you'll get it!!!!![]()
