Very impressive! That's a sun coral, right? How does she feed it?
Oh, and in the last pic, what is the green directly above the clown?
Always learnin something new...

Jase I feed the sun corals by taking a container and then putting them in under water and taking them out of the tank. I then feed them mysis with a dropper. That way the hermits aren't all over them trying to take the mysis from them. I did try to put a plastic top from a water bottle over them and feed them but the hermits are really persistant about getting in & they will dig under the container to get in.
Beautiful tank. Would love to know more about it, dimensions, equipment, age, etc. Thanks,
Cynthia
hey Vicky, looking good! nice tank. looks like you have a few frags to place![]()
Looks very nice! I can't seem to keep gorgonians alive. What parameters do you keep your tank at? Temp, salinity, etc.
I love sushi! Is that strange?

I keep my tank at 76 and salinity is 1.022. I have had this one for about 6 months and it has its polyps out at least 90% of the time.
What are your tank parameters Devon?
My tank stays between 75-78 degrees (most of the time 76-77), salinity is at 1.025, Alk is around 9.5 dKh, Calcium is around 410.

From what I have read, gorgonians don't have a real good success rate in our home aquaria. I haven't had any success with them, I know that. Since they are filter feeders, I believe, I think my skimmer eliminates any possibility of me having long term success with these animals.

Thanks everybody for the nice comments.
Your right Charlie the gorgonians don't do good in the aquarium. I had a red and another yellow awhile ago and they didn't do well. Polyps hardly came out. This one how ever has been beautiful and as long as it keeps looking this great I will enjoy it. I probably won't buy another one tho.
Now for some info on my tank. I have had this tank about 14 years. It is 110, 48 x 18 x 30. Started out mainly with soft and lps corals. I wish I wouldn't have gotten such a deep tank 30". It is better now that I added 2 - 250 halide lights (old ones were 175 halides). I also have 2-65 actinic pc. With my old lights I use to also have 2 - 96 watt daylight pcs but the power cords were so stiff that they kept braking the bulbs. This year I have started getting into sps's. I have a cpr overflow which is so much better then the over flow with the tubes (which is what I started out with on this tank). Yesterday I added 3 pieces of blue ridge live rock and rearranged some corals. I will try to post some pics but my camera isn't as good as Charlies. I added a blue spotted jawfish into my tank Tuesday of last week. It went to the back of the tank and has stayed there until today I came home and he is in the front right below my pearly jawfish( they are about 4 inches apart) so far no wars.
