Rome wasn't built in a day---neither is a reef
Willis--1998-2009---I will miss you.
Not nearly done finding pictures, it is actually fun to see where the tank has been
Sure tell 'em about the calls! I got the tank & Kyle moved to Alaska, so YOU were my only information source...poor dog!
and...it'll just show everybody how much i've calmed down....but you have to remember I've never spent this much $$$$.$$ on FISH!![]()
If Kyle had stayed, we would have been your only source of info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOPS, that was rude. Nope, I won't tell them about the calls, then Spokane Kevin would have to chime in about me
I think going thru old pics is a hoot, especially when it comes to coral growth.

I can't believe you can just snatch pics off of FaceBook, but I just did
1) Hammerheads behind a group of triathletes off the Kona Coast at the turn-around (as in over a mile out)
2) The pro swim practice last Friday....Linsey Corbin (our own Pro-Woman from Missoula) is in the red one-piece suit...she is going to kick some serious @$$ on Saturday at 6:30AM.
If you look at some triathlon magazine, the rest of the folks are all very serious pro triathletes....some (including Linsey) have been in Kona for a MONTH training & acclimating to HA for this one race!
Back to da fishes:
3) Sump in & running RODI water to it
4) Charlie thinks he's the only one that got calls from me....Greg at Reef Geek probably got tired of me, too. Freakin' protein skimmer...... #()@&#^^%!! Oh yeah, itsa a learning process!
5) Rocks in everything filled with water & running...perfect, right?
well, pretty much....
At this point I turned this all over to a friend to care for it....
"Why would you do that?" you might ask...
Because 2 days later we went to Washington for my niece's wedding and the day after we got on an airplane & flew to ETHIOPIA (no...really) to pick up our 2 new sons that we'd adopted. We were gone for 10 days, perfect to let the tank mini-cycle until I got back...HA
Gordon C. is a TRUE FRIEND
1) As we left Minn-St Paul for Ethiopia (via Frankfort & the Sudan!)
2) Kuba (L) & Girma (R) wondering about all of this...these people are our WHAT???
3) Watching a movie at the guest house the day before we flew back to the USA (8.18.08)
4) 1 week later (8.25.08), fish are moved into their new home (new location for the old home) no fish were killed making this picture!
5) Beginning to tackle the refugium...how 'bout a light source? (11.02.08)
....we had an 'intellectual' idea of what adopting older siblings would be likeu-betcha ...notice the 2-1/2 month gap here.....I think this is where Charlie was telling me I had to do something about the Aptasia and I was blowing him off because Debbie & I were totally overloaded totally beyond our imagination...)

1) RODI set up (found up later I had not so optimal set up instructions, is OK now). I have added a pre-filter, pump for better system pressure and TDS meter.
2) I swore no new fish until I was secure in my knowledge about taking care of this tank and the fish. Everybody else thought this Orange Shoulder Tang was a great idea! Everybody was CORRECT! He is a very gregarious (friendly) fish, and has made all of the other fish not at all scared of the people that walk by. Almost everybody is out swimming all of the time when the lights are on, I love this fish.
3) Mandarin Dragonet was in the display originally, got the sump set up with algae & pods, he is much happier now.
4) Empty rocks with white splotches...can you say killaptasiawithKalk? I can! (last 4 pics 11.24.08)
5) Who are these people and WHY would you let them IN YOUR HOUSE? (12.07.09)![]()
You know, we are do for another trip down south, think you and Brandon would be up for that?

That last picture makes one wonder...
So now I finally get it. Geez! This was Kyle's tank! Why didn't I know that? Maybe because noone ever told me? Hmmm......
Well, it looks great Kevin. I have some stuff from Kyle's tank. Have his pygmy angel too. He freaked for a few days after moving from the big tank to the little one. Know he'll be much happer in the 80.
Last picture makes me wonder why I didn't bring more beer!!!!!

1) Tank shot 1.21.09 Left side are 2 groups of frags that Bullet gave me when I picked up the OS Tang, also the 2 pieces of orangy shelf coral (I am very technical about my coral taxonomy) on the columnar piece of rock in the center of the tank
2) Left End 4 orange frags on a rock, 3 brown frags on a rock, central brown frag really grows well 1.21.09
3) Charlie's Red Bird's nest 1.22.09 soon after I obtained it. Just sat there for 2-1/2 months
4) Charlie's Green () 1.22.09 ditto & just sat there ditto
5) Right end, not much here, Zoanthids, Kalk devastation & Aptasia 1.21.09
These particular frags are amazing to watch over the last 8-9 months. Having looked back I will now document things a bit more closely, the growth is very cool to see! It is really funny when friends come to visit & go look at the tank. Not realizing that the 'live corals' are a live & do grow, they do double takes & say things like 'Uh...those things really DO grow!"
