Off to the left side seems like an interesting place for the overflow. Is there a particular reason they didn't put it in the middle?

i wish i knew why they did that even their 120s with duel overflowes are like that and not in the corners. it suck to aquascape with them like that

I keep pulling Kenya tree out of my tank. It is very resilient.

Hi Daugherty- I was wondering as I see you added a U/V sterilizer to you setup, how do you like it?...How many gallons is your tank, what is the U/V tube (make, size, why that one?) and how have you plumbed it into the tank. What did it do for your aquarium (or NOT do?)...would you go bigger or smaller if you had it to do over. I am looking at placing one in my set up someplace, just wondering about it from somebody who has done it recently.

    Re: Daugherty's 75

my uv is a 40w gamma uv i think it is rated for 200 or so gallons and my tank is a 75 with a 50gal sump. after putting it on my tank i noticed that the alage on the glass has slowed down on the growth. the reason i got is was to help control the alage that i could just not get rid of and it has helped. i still have some alage but nothing like it was. the water is more clear. i plummed it is using dishwasher hose that is 7/8in and hooked it to my pump to the tank. that way any thing that leaves the DT will never make it back to the tank alive. i bad part about uv's is that you need to slow down the flow for them to be affective that is one reason that i got a bigger one since their effective kill floew rate is higher than a smaller one since they have more contact time. some of them are only a couple hundred gallons an hour i think mine is around 600 or 700 for a good kill rate and 2800gph max but the kill rate sucks if you push that much water through.
