Hi i'm new to the reef too. Just found out there was a local club, so I thought I would sign up and see if I could meet some people. I have been on this site before but didn't notice there was a local club area. A lot of good info on here.

Will do. She is one of 3 that work there that I can ask a question and get a better answer than "I have no idea". I had no idea how addictive of a hobby this can be.![]()
you will never realize how addictive it is, I haven't and I have been around here for a while. Tell you what, why don't you start a new thread about your tank, and that way we don't kill the present thread. I am sure I am not the only one interested in what you have for a system.
If you need any help getting a thread started, let me know.

Will do, sorry about the thread hijacking. lol
You get the thread started, and I will move these posts over there, I happen to know how to do that![]()

Hello everyone. Just starting to get VERY hooked on the reef. jut found out about the club, so here I am. I started with a 45 tall thinking that would be enough, ha ha boy was I wrong. I just finished setting up my 120 and now continue to try to fill it. (slow and spendy process) I will try to upload a few pics.

Hopefully the pics made it.
is that the 45 or the 120?

That is the 120. I tore down the 45 and moved it into the 120 along with a 40 breeder that was fully stocked that I picked up while building the hood and stand for the 120.
Can I ask a dumb question????
How long have you had this tank set up?

Just over a month. I did start it out with about 70 lbs of the sand that was in my 45 and about 150 lbs of live rock from the 2 up and running tanks.
Would you mind if I make a suggestion??
Please slow down, the idea isn't to see how fast it can fill up, the theory is to fill it slowly and let it mature. I have used this theory for about 12 years now, and it seems to work.
I am not saying the tank isn't nice, just sayin slow it down a bit and let the tank catch up with the bioload, OK?

Almost everything in there came from the 2 tanks. I did add some mushrooms, zoos, shrimp, crabs, snails and such. The 40 I bought was pretty over stocked.
If it was a direct transfer, then I guess I will shut upI just always like to err on the cautious side, to freaking old for to much drama
.
Where are you at in C.Falls?

Not very far away. One of these day I wouldn't mind seeing your tank and maybe get a few pointers. I think there might be some things in my tank that I might not totally know how to properly care for.
