    June 12th

Hey folks, time for a late spring BBQ and meeting, what do you think?

I am gonna be throwing some country ribs on the BBQ, and I am sure we can find something to talk about. Kim Martinson already has dibs on a plate of baked beans, so it is all up to the rest to fight it out for everything else. I think I want to collect our yearly fees this meeting also, so bring $25 and I will make sure you leave here full. There is also a distinct possibility that there may be some frags available, I need to do some thinning, really bad.

Come on up, bring whatever you are gonna drink and have some fun. If you want this to be kid friendly, we could do that too, I don't care, you have to watch em tho, that ain't my job.

I will send an e-mail out in the next couple of days.

    Re: June 12th

Go this from Julie yesterday folks, is anybody interested??

    Hi -

The lady at the Fair office called me back today. If the reef club wants to set up a booth with a fish tank display, the fair will let them do it for free this year. It is usually about $250 - but for our first year they won't charge.

The booth needs to have some one attending it from about 11 a.m. through 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday during the fair.

If the club wants to do this - I need to let her know early next week!

    Thanks - jab

She need to know by early in the week, OK?

    Re: June 12th

This meeting/BBQ wouldn't happen to correspond with someone turning a year older, would it???

I sure wish we could be there, but Madison has her Summer Dance Recital the same day. Otherwise, we'd be over there, for sure. We've really been needing to get out of town, and a meeting/bbq, along with spending time with a good friend, who just happens to be turning a year older, would be just the thing.

I hope you have a good turn out Charlie!!

Hey Michael, how ya been? I don't know, judging by the responses so far, I have more out of town people paying attention than locals.

I have absolutely no idea what you mean about turning a year older, could you clarify a bit???

now that's a drop in quality!!!!!!
hell if no one show's up you can come watch my daughter and the rest of the hula crowd show their stuff. at least one of the dancers is prety hot and the rest really have that Hawaiian look going for them, except they are white..... the band is great. the members are from Sacramento and Hawaii. they sound good and are really funny.

    Re: June 12th

I'm planning on coming over - ribs, weenies, whatever you've got Charlie. I'm easy to please. And I'm bringing a big pot of my homemade beans - slow cooked in molasses and mustard with bacon and onions. They'll go great with either one.

As for a discussion topic - if we don't have one yet, how about filtration? What types (biological - chemical - mechanical) that everyone's using. I know I use all three, as I'm sure most do, but it would be interesting to hear what's working well. I'm also interested in sumps and what tricks and tips some of the seasoned reefers could share. I don't have one, but have learned what an asset they are to a system in so many ways and will certainly use one in my next set up.

    So, are we still on?

I knew I could count on you and your beans!!!!

It is gonna be ribs Kim, I can't cook hot dogs for everybody, that just isn't right. Weekly maintenance was also mentioned.....................somewhere, but we can certainly hit upon any topic , we are gonna be there for the duration, I am sure we are gonna have time.

We are still on, I will probably pick up the ribs tomorrow. I have not heard from Devon yet?????

Kim, Still interested in another blue for your tank?

Hi Charlie - sorry to be a wet blanket again, but I've got a car show & wedding to be at (not at the same time) on Saturday, so I'll be absent. Filtration would be a very nice topic to hear about. Skimmer size & mechanical options used & discarded, or in use would be helpful. KevinD
...why is it always something to do with the water?

Charlie what time will you be starting up Saturday? My wife and I have plans for a play that night, but would like to stop by before and meet some of you if that's possible Oh, and you said BBQ, so I'm hoping that means outside and no steps
