Re: It is still my 300, just different

Lets not get to technical here Kevin, suffice it to say that sps can grow here, and let's leave it at that. For the folks that bother to open up a book, (you are one of them Thank God), yes, it is kinda like a reef crest I think. I haven't seen a bad reaction from any of my corals.......................... well there is one Hammer coral that needs some attention, but all the rest are saying thank you. I am back to good polyp extension again, and I like that.

Re: It is still my 300, just different

Did not know i was being tecnocal and all....but I was in the ocean recently, snorkeling next to a reef. Fish were all the right shapes, just the WRONG colors (Atlantic varieties!). What I did notice was the high proportion of soft corals that would DIE in my tank and the all the surge & foaming and all that in the water. Reef Crest...good description, lots of surging harsh flow!
...why is it always something to do with the water?

You really weren't bein to technical Kevin, I understood what you were saying, but you know how that goes

Since you were diving, do you ever question why people get so upset about microbubbles????

do people get upset about that? Or why would someone get upset by that, hypothetically speaking? Doesn't that just mean there's plenty of good old O2 dissolved n the water column? (I naively adjust the little valve on the power head on my fresh water tank so there are just a few microbubbles floating to the surface ...is this not a good idea???)

Yeah, lots of people get uptight about microbubbles. The only reason they piss me off is they can really mess up a good pic, but after that, who cares. There is a reason they get upset, about em, they get on the sps polyps and I am not sure, but it will inhibit feeding.

I do the same thing in my freshwater tanks, don't feel bad.

Looks good Charlie, and I agree with you both on the micro bubbles, living on the ocean I see all the foam that washes up on shore, and know that is mother nature cleaning her water, they've never bothered me except as Charlie pointed out the can screw up a good pic.

Glad to see things are improving Charlie, on that note, my algea bloom is gone, now just got to get to January and order some discus, I'm gonna pm you some eye candy. Oh, Tripper the no longer lap puppy who still thinks he is says hi

The plumbing is breaking in, not as many bubbles.
