Mike,
See what the dates show now and let me know if they are correct. Also could you tell me what you set as the change incriment (how many months) for both VHO and MH?
Thanks,
Scott Z.

Notice the date the next change is due on my metal halides? It went BACK to 2002. But the change date on the VHO looks correct.

They are close...
I put 12 months on the Metal Halide and 24 months on the VHO... I use that just for color.
So my change dates should be 02-01-2005 and 06-01-2006... I think those are the I put in...
And what do your change dates so (the day for the next change)?
Right now, the calculation is done as follows:
60secs * 60mins * 24hrs * 30days * number of months selected. I might have to rewrite that function to be more precise.
Scott Z.
wouldn't months, days, hours, be enough? Since the drop down options start with months, seems that would be okay.
I don't understand what you are asking here? And what do your change dates so (the day for the next change)?
On the price issue, yes I did incluse the dollar sign. I just went into livestock and was able to edit the entry, but the price of the fish still shows zero...

Mike,
I think the problem you are having with the dollar amount is with the dollar sign. Do not include it and see what happens. For example: 15.00
I was just asking what the dates actually show for the next change for your MH and VHO bulbs. I think the problem there is you had entered the date as 01-01-01 (not the exact date, just the format) and I have it developed for 01/01/2001 so I think I might need to add some additional functionality there for multiple formats.
Scott Z.
Yup the ($) was the problem, I enter the price with-out the sign and it works fine....
As far as the dates go, YES you are correct I did use 00-00-00 instead of 00/00/00... I think dual format would be a good idea there.
Ok thanks. Perhaps adding a dollar sign in front of the text box will alleviate that problem or I can also strip it from the data before submitted to the db.
As for the dates, I will change it to accept both formats so until then, I am going to leave this bug open.
Scott Z.
$ sign is now stripped from the data input so that piece is fixed. Still leaving open until I fix the date function to work from multiple formats.

Check out http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/js-date4.htm#test6 for some real nice Date validation code snippets, mainly javascript based. Might be something that will help out there.Originally Posted by Reefland

Thanks Steve!
I think the key here will be to accept any date format:
m/d/yy
mm/dd/yyyy
mm/dd/yy
m-d-yy
mm-dd-yy
mm-dd-yyy
That way any of the inputed methods will be accepted versus a script that errors out and ask the user to correct it to only one of the formats. Thoughts?
Scott Z.
I think you have it.... Except for those that use dd-mm-yy that live across the pond!!!
Maybe have a drop down to tell the board what format to expect the dates to be input? Is that even possible?
Yeah that's a possibility too. I never considered that but maybe a drop down for day, month and year would be the best choice.
