Trying to add Corals to the system, and can only add one.

Once I have one in, I can pick the option to add the second one, but after entering all the details and submitting, I still only see one in the list.

Aftering adding the second one and being redirected, were you redirected to the coral you just tried to add? If so, were there any errors displayed on that page? If not, where did it redirect you to?

Try to add another now and see what you get.

No errors shown, but I tracked down the problem. I bought the second coral from Kee's Pets. Putting the ' in the name confused the system (i'm guessing you use ' as a delimiter in your insert line for the DB). Removing the apostrophe (and using Kees Pets instead) resulted in the acceptance of the livestock entry with no problem.

Perhaps a quick bit of Javascript to remove ' from the input, or some method to escape them so they get entered properly in the database ?

Yeah I think I am going to have to run each data entry field through a more complex strip function as this is the same problem Mike had with the cost of an item. I have already started working up the function to strip all of these characters, just need to get it in place.

Ok, I tested with the following inputs :

Common Name : Prayer Coral
Scientific Name : Deitus Beseechum
Bought From : Kee's Pets
Price : $39.99

Went in just fine, and shows correctly in the summary (minus the ' and the $ as expected).

Good deal. At first your post worried me though because I do not want the ' to be stripped, and when I read your post I thought it was being removed. I looked at your entry though and see that it does contain the ' and entered the db just fine.
