    Lighting details/equibments

    Scott,
I am just now have time to try to config my tank. i will post problems here as I encounter them. I hope this is OK with you.
I am having problem with setting up the lighting details.
I use Six Bulbs with three types of ballast and 4 types of bulbs, all MH. I can't put allthese information on the lighting details.
Two HQI 400W PFO ballasts with Radiums
Two regular 250W PFO ballasts with 250W XM 20,000K Bulbs.
One 400 W Champion Ballast with 400W XM 20,000K bulb
One 400W Champiom Ballast with 400W Iwasaki 6500K bulb over my refugium, reverse light.

Most people use multiple light over their reef. I think we shoud beable to enter these in the log rather than just one choice of light.

My Ca reactor and Kalk reactor are DIY reactors. We should have this choice, and others not matched above.

    Minh,

Please do post your problems and suggestions in new threads each time so I can keep track of them. Kevin has also mentioned this as has saltwaterdave so I am going to have to do something differently with the MH Config. Do you think the other lighting choices should be redone too to have the ability to enter multiple types of ballasts, bulbs, etc?

As for the CA and Kalk reactor choices, I can add DIY to the list pretty quickly and will get that done.

    Thanks!
    Scott Z.

    Scott,
I think the type of ballast is not too important. I think you can have multiple entries using each bulb as a separate item.
Instead of asking what kind of light we used, the solfware should ask:
How many NO tubes we use, what wattage, what color, what ballast for each tupe?
How many PC tubes we use, what wattage, what color, what ballast for each tupe?
How many MH bulbs we use, what wattage, what color, what ballast for each bulb?

I toosed this around for weeks before I did anything and knew it would be a difficult piece of the log to complete.

I would like to get everyones feedback on this. Perhaps you guys can help me save a lot of work by working together in this thread and determining the final outcome of the lighting configuration. I would really appreciate it.

Hmmm, mine keeps changing tank types and builder, everytime I access the page. I use GE brand normals outputs and Marine Glo actinics, so perhaps an "other" , would be fine to check. Same as above for calcium reactors. Mine is made by a local lfs, so perhaps an "other" there also.

You mean what you enter is not being saved correctly? Could it be that the page you are viewing is cached? Try to go to the home page and refresh and see what happens.

We'll add Other to all of the options.

I have been working on this and had it written on a piece of notebook paper what I had in mind and the dog ate it j/k The little monster must have gotten it though I can't find it anywhere I'll try it again.

*edit* are my jokes that lame? I was serious about my little girl though.
