Question Fish addtion to livestock [FIXED]

Reefland, Each time i add a fish to my livestock, all it shows is the date added which is the current date. it shows none of the details entetred about the fish. There is not even any option showing to delete the erroneous entries. Please advise

Hi apophis924, thanks for the feedback!

The problem is that you have not entered a common name or scientific name to the fish entry, thus there is nothing to link to. I have added "Fish1" to each of the fish you entered into the database which will now have a link so you can view the details and edit or delete them.

I have the same problem... I did add a common name to 4 of them I believe, but maybe not the correct common name? The fish in question are Blue Damsels? I don't know the scientific name for them... Help

Hi Sueet and thanks for your feedback!

I have added temporary common names for the fish you entered into your log so you can click on them and edit them to your liking. Let me know if you encounter any more problems.

For the long term, I have fixed this error for all livestock additions; either the common name or the scientific name will have to be entered as 1 or the other is now a required field.

Regards,
Scott Z.

Well, I did put "Blue Damsel" in several of them, in that "common name" box... but was it the wrong common name? If so, how do I find out what the correct common name is? Or do you mean it didn't show that because I had entered nothing in the scientific name box? Thanks again for the help!

The log does not determine right from wrong, what ever you put in it will accept. If you could, please edit those fish using Blue Damsel as the common name and let me know if you encounter any problems.

Thanks,
Scott Z.

It worked great... thanks..... Now, a really dumbbbbbbbbb question... So, if the "common name" doesn't matter, I could put anything, as long as I know which fish it is, right? Like, if I put a pygmy angel in, and I have named him Purple Haze, I could put that there, correct? That's kewl, cuz I do have a tendency to name my critters... my Sea Cucumbers name is "Claire" ... lol

Hi Sueet, If you really interested to find proper scientific names for you fish, try this website www.fishbase.org

You can type common name in the search field there and then look through the available species that match your fish.

Hey, Thanks Gene! I never realized how many "types" of "Blue Damsel" there are, lol! It turns out that I have "Springer's Blue Damsels" or "Chrysiptera springeri" ..... Thanks again! This site will be very helpful!

Glad to hear you were able to get the fish in your log corrected as well.
