need the blues

I am having a heck of a time getting this blue tort to look blue. The only thing I don't think I've tried is to leave the white balance alone and take a pic. I thought I'd let you have a shot at maybe telling me what's goin on before I go off half cocked.

Charlie,

I think it's a bit overexposed, hence killing the color pretty much. Do you have controls over exposure( like Ev +/-)? If yes, try to set it at -1/3 of a stop and see what happens. I think you may be surprized at the results.
I had real problem with my Nikon taking shots of blue corals or fish, everything came out purple. I did adjust my wb with some plastic grey(or yellow) card and it helped.
Try looking over this website for some tips, Gregory is a photographer by trade and did great job writing all this information.

Boy charlie you got me... I can't bring up the blues very well in PS either. I am with Gene on this one, try to set the Exposure Value to -1 or even -2 and see what you get. You may as well try the AWB setting as well since nothing else has seemed to work. What do you get when you use flash?

Very nice Charlie! You sure can't tell you are running 20,000K Radium bulbs by how white the picture is.

Regards,
Kevin
