There seems to be a lot of flower pictures being posted so I thought it would be cool to start a Flower Picture thread for us to talk about the flowers and ideas for improving the picture qualities.
![]() Here is on we have in our backyard. Can't remember what it is called but we have these and some contrasting white ones which have not opened yet. This one just opened yesterday. ![]() |

I'm going to guess Lillies....
GREAT SHOT! I like the composition and use of contrasting colors, only thing that would make it better is to seperate the subject from the background more. You can do that by using a small f stop number, which corresponds to a larger opening. This will also increase your shutter speed.... Try one in Av mode, set it to the smallest # and see what you get! |

Well, it's not warm here, either! It's so dang cold, I had to turn off the a/c and open the windows today! It's even colder tonight - I had to shut the windows!

Well, here are a few more pics from the yard today.... the second isn't technically a flower though, but I'm sure you figured that out. I also sent the weather report (from weather.com).

Well, I'll add couple of flower pictures, however, they were taken during the summer time. Like Scott said, it mostly icy sticks around here now.
It's NFL playoff time for Christ sake. ![]()

Here are a couple that I took this past spring... I'm suffering from the same problem as dragonladylea in that there are no flowers here now.
