Little black spots! Where did that come from?

YUCK! Where did that come from? THese are good examples of what happens when you get dirt on the sensor in a Digital Camera. These are also good examples of what it may look like if you get dirt on the rearmost element of a SLR camera! Usually this is very easy to clean, a blower bulb usually does the trick, but it illustrates how a little dirt can cause a LOT of Photo Shop work!

    Here is another,

Now just imagine this happening with something very important, like a wedding, or the birth of a child... Take care to keep those sensors CLEAN!!!!

    Nice tip.

Just want to add that sensor dust is not always quite that dark. Sometimes it's a fuzzy gray dot on your pic. It all depends on how much you stop down.

and of course, you forgot the world-famous link on how to clean sensor dust, should the bulb not work (BTW, beware the bulb, make sure that it's clean, otherwise it will blow more dust onto the sensor - also, never use compressed air):

    Hi Gregory,

Well, it looks like I am unqualified to even attempt to clean that sensor on my Rebel. I have both, trembling hands and I am far sighted and everything looks blurry close up. I wonder if I can ask someone younger with steady hands and clear vision to read this article and follow directions...Hmmm

There should be a button right next to quote button just bellow the text of your post...bottom right corner.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

I tried that button, but for some reason it didn't do anything for me.

As far as cleaning your sensor goes, you don't really need steady hands, it's just one quick swipe in both directions. Maybe reading glasses with that magnification thing can help you see the sensor?

Thanks, Gregory, it;s just that as soon as I started reading that article there was a disclaimer... I will give it a try and see if I can get rid of those spots.

On the button, can you give it a try again and let me know if it does or doesn't work for you?
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

Hey, now I have an "edit" button next to the "quote" button, all I had before was the little page with the arrow icon and the "quote" button. Hey, all's well. Thanks.
