Nice! Does it worry you that it's a grey market? I'm assuming that the only difference would be lack of US warranty?

Well, I'll be waiting for you to post some images with it.

PS. Mike, would you consider this lens to be good primarily for portraiture or an all around lens for any pictures you may want to take? I'm asking this becouse of its focal range.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

Gene, Nah, it doesn't bother me that it is an import. I don't think it bothers those in Canada, or England either... You are right though, no US warranty, but the store will repair/exchange for the first year anyway. I have purchased several grey market items before, including my 20D, 550EX, and my old 28-135.

I plan for this Lens to be on the camera for at least 75% of the time. So yes it will be my portrait, and all around lens. Remember the crop factor we have, so this lens is more like a 38-112. When we do portraits with the studio I find the lens to around the 50mm mark most of the time anyway, but this gives me the option to back up when there is no room to!

Scott it doesn't quite do that, but it does a really good job of taking pictures in lower light conditions, also it will blur out the background, and best of all, it will hold 90-95% of its value over the next 5 years. So in actuallity this lens isn't really that much money, when you consider what I'll get for it, if or when I sell it.

The only reason I would sell it though is if I made the move to all "prime" glass... But those a REALLY expensive, some are more then this one and are ONLY 24mm or ONLY 85mm no zoom!
