OK Mike, you talked me into it, I'll be ordering this lens then.

Just got the package in the door!!! I am gonna have to wait for a couple of hours to get er open tho, it's cold out there. Not good to get it into the warm air really quick!!! I called Gene, he's gonna call back when he gets back. Hope to open it up, like I said in a couple of hours after it "acclimates".

LOL! I couldn't wait... I would be ripping it open! I am sure you are very excited to get started, you absolutely HAVE TO post your first attempts with the new rig once you get it going. You may want to crack open the box and start charging the battery though, it takes about 90 minutes or so to fully charge.

By the way, you can get those BP-511A batteries on E-bay VERY cheap! I bought 2 for 16 including shipping, so keep your eye out!

MIke,
I send him two batteries already and at least one of them should be fully charged.

Charlie, it's Ok to open up the box right away. It;s not a frag or a fish and should work if battery is charged.

Bubba, I'm 51 years old, my memory is as long as................................................ ....
I went to college in the early 70's, that has caused me to lose a great bit of brain cell material, irreperable damage!!!!!! This hobby has stretched my learning limitations already, I can't even imagine what this camera is gonna do to me. I NEED A DRINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First 3 pics with new camera and kit lens. Kinda hurried these along, so if you have any suggestions................ All were auto-focus soooooooooooooooooo
I need to do something with the white balance, don't you think? Also, these were freehanded.

That;s is nice pix,Charlie, and I think there is nothing wrong with the white balance. Did you have it on auto? It was always right on for me in auto WB setting. I think that kit lens does better for you than it did for me.

Thanx Gene, to me it looks a little blue, especially after I put 2 new 10K lites in the front 4' hood. Yes, everything was automatic, not really confident in my personal focusing ability yet!!!!

God Mike, I would hope to shout. I'll just keep working on it, that is for sure. I haven't got the nuggies to put the macro lense on yet, probably tomorrow. What will the 50mm do for me on either one of those shots????

Charlie,

Did you have your camera set at AV( aperture priority) and WB on auto?

That 50mm lens is very sharp even wide open but color rendition probably wouldn't change much, though. What do you think, Mike?

On this one I reduced the Av to 4, it was at 4.5. What do you think?
I should really clean the glass on the tank tomorrow, it is starting to look pretty used!!!!
