Buying a new camera

I'm having trouble choosing between 2 models from Nikon and 2 models from Cannon.

I'm trying to decide between the Nikon coolpix P3 and the Cannon S80. Any one know about these cameras?

Here is a side by side,

It looks like they are pretty equal cameras, I would give the edge to the Canon since it has a real manual white balance option. It looks like the Nikon has WB presets is all.

I think the Cannon is the winner! I'll pick it up this weekend. Are there any better cameras in the price range that i havn't noticed?

Thanks for the info.

I'm no computer expert but it seems for those dollars you could get something more feature rich. Our 5400 was around that price and appears to have a lot more controls and features.

Scott, these cameras cost more due to the 8.0 megapixel sensors, and they have 2.5 LCDs. Both also focus down to 4cm. Your 5400 is a nce camera though.

That link shows the upcoming S3, it has a LARGER image sensor then the other two, even though it has fewer MP, it should have less noise @ high ISO then the other two do. I am not sure about its macro capabilities though.

I'm a Nikon fan, we use nikon and love them. I have used Olympus and Sony in the past, and I dont think they measure up in several catagorys (at least in your price range)

What do you guys think about the Cannon power shot A620 or A530? I'm kinda thinking about buying one of them today.

I haven't used A620 or the 530 but , my son has A95 and I loved it. It produced some outstanding images for a P&S camera. One of the best cams in that category in my opinion.
Here's a conclusion page on the review of the camera that you are thinking about.
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona620/page14.asp

I glanced through the review and it seems that it has good features and exellent macro capabilities.Plus it is capable of accepting add-on lenses( telephoto and fisheye and what not), slave flashes and so on.
