Gene,

THANK YOU! They're great plants, aren't they? Just park them someplace where they get a little shade and they do their thing -- no fuss, no muss.

I guess I am going to have to go searching for some flowers soon. THis weekend is already shot, I have a wedding today and tomorrow too!
Thanks for the review, Mike. Good luck on your shoot and please do post some images of the spring/summer flowers.
If you remember, it is my second copy of that lens(Tamron). The first one was awful but this one is I think could be quite good. You have to understand something.., I haven't shot anything smaller than f5 with it. I'm almost sure that if stopped down some, and in a middle of focal range it can produce outstanding images outdoors. For aquarium pictures.., I probably stick with the Sigma macro or that 24-135mm lens.

That's right! I forgot you took that first copy back. I was a little confused because I KNEW that lens had given you grief, and here are pictures that look very good, I was really looking for the "bad" too.

Well 2 days down, 2 weddings, and now I have about 1200 pictures to go thru. I might have time to BREATHE someday....

Well, since summer had unoficially begun, lets post some outdoors images. Whatever you got.

I;m beginning to really enjoy my Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens, it is probably the sharpest lens I have in my bag. Here's some samples...all of the pictures were taken outside this past Sunday(Kids were visiting so the photo ops are always available )

Hey Charlie,

That was one of the two pinatas that I bought for my granddaughters to bust, I didn;t realise how hard it is to really bust them up so it was fun watching them work.

Those are real nice pictures, Charlie, and I think lens is not at fault. I think it was simply DOF problem. The parts that you focused on are real sharp and clean. What f stop did you use and what lens? If it was with a macro lens they are notoriously have very shallow depth of field, so you need to try like f8 and smaller. Also, I think speedlight will help lighting everything equally.

Also, what are the flowers in the first and second picture are called?

I'd be curious, too...

The first one looks like some kind of wacky impatien/anemone cross. The second almost looks like a cactus/succulent.... The only flowers I've ever seen with those kinds of spots are toad lilies or some phalanopsis orchid hybrids. And the petals aren't right for either one of them.

Yeah, I'm waiting for Charlie to get his glasses and read those tags for me...
I've been looking around here to find something like this but to no avail. If I knew the exact name of the flowers I could possibly order some.

OK,OK, so I'm slow:slap::slap:

According to the tags, the first one is a Verbena, escapade Bright Eye is what else is on the tag. Lorie said the second pic is a hybrid of the first., The leaves are the same on both plants????? Or as she so aptly put it, it is scientists trying to screw around with mother nature
Sorry it took me so long to get back people, I totally spaced this one out!!!
