Mike-had to share this one with you, thats the crab you bagged for me at Dan's. The urchin rode on his back for at least 6 hours all over the tank!!

LOL! That is a great capture Tracey. What is actually happening though, is the urchin was trying to CRUSH the crab under one of his many feet! It is an urchin after my own heart.

Actually, it had all of its little "tentacles" extended, my son said it was looking for "fast food" or to lazy to look for it himself!! LOL Was on his back for about 6 hours!

I was counting urchins in the grass beds in FL this weekend and saw the opposite: an urchin walking around with a hermit crab stuck upside down on it. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera.

The more I look at that picture, the more that shell looks like it used to belong to a perfectly good Astraea snail. I'll bet the little home wrecker made a meal outta the snail before he took the house!
