More (better!) new pics

So... I really love these pictures of the tank- as I learn how to use all the features of my camera- and what "macro" means! I took these this afternoon as the sun went down and shone directly into the tank. I took them while my wife was sleeping on the couch, over the course of about an hour. And boy, was she thrilled to learn what I had done with my hour of free time!

I picked over them and chose the ones I liked the best. I edited about half of them in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

One question- how can I get the pictures to around 80-120 Kb without sacrificing quality?

In case anyone is curious- the camera is an Olympus D-590

btw, is the upload size 5 Mb for everyone, or just non-contributing members?
How do I embed images in a post?

And by the way, I happen to like how you use your free time

I usually upload them to my gallery, and attach them that way. No I won't move this post, Mike would really want to see these.

WOW! You learn FAST! Those are very good, having the sun hit the tank sure helps doesn't it?

I think you did an outstanding job!

I can't remember for sure about the 5MB limit, but honestly that is a LOT of space, you could easily fit a hundred pictures or more in that if sized properly. (I know that is your next question...)

I use PS to resize, it has a great tool for web sizing images. I have played around with MS Paint to resize and it actually does a decent job, but it is hard to use to say the least.

I know there are free image editors out there, but for the life of me I can't remember them right now.

Charlie is right, if you load the images to your gallery, it will give you the code you need to embed the images in the post. They are [img ] and [/ img] but without the spaces....Try an image to your gallery, you will see the code there.

Ok- I've figured out how to resize everything- the "MS Office Picture Manager" app isn't half bad...
I'm gonna re-load all of the already posted pics, along with a whole bunch more- give me a little time.

The sun sure does help give some really great photgraphs! I'd like to thank everyone who posts their own pics- viewing these the last couple of years helped me learn how to shoot (decently) in a short period of time.

Here we go now...
Yet another question- how can I delete images out of my gallery? I put three up there before I figured out how to resize a picture and maxed out my disk space... oops.

Ummm... I looked for your gallery under "C" and I didn't see it. Send me a link to your gallery please, and the files you want deleted and I will take care of it for you.

Pictures are looking great Carl! Non-contributing members get 5mb on the forum and 5mb in their gallery. Contriuting members get unlimited file space.

More great shots. Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if anyone uses external white balance tools like gray cards, whi-bal, or if you just rely on the camera's internal white balance?

MH? if so what temp?

Some are under MH (150w 14,000K), some are under fluorescent (50/50 daylight, 50/50 actinic) and some are supplemented with direct sunlight. I've got a goofy lighting scheme, I know- half the tank is MH, the other PC.

The New Year's Day photos are as follows:
1- right smack in the middle of the tank, so a little of everything.
2- MH
3- PC
4- PC w/sun at sunset
