You need to get that tank going again Charlie. Maybe by then I will have a frag or two to send you.

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Couple of actinic shots for you folks, to return this thread on the right track...

The large staghorn in front of the clownfish is gone now. I decided to sell it and sure it's in good hands now. It completely outgrew my tank.

WOW! Those are pretty bright! I just added a new T5 "True Actinic" to my tank, it is on its own timer, so I have the dusk till dawn again. I really missed that part. I will try and snap some pictures of my outrageously bright trumpet coral under that light!

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Scott,

I hope it does well indeed for it;s new owner. I haven't heard anyhting as yet as far as it;s condition.

Mike, how do you like your T5 blues? I love VHO's super actinics look and decided to hold off on the T5 untill I'm able to see them in person.
My megachrome halide bulbs are pretty nice by themselves but with the blues from VHO's tank looks much nicer.

Here's what my tank look slike under VHO super actinic bulbs

And together with the magachromes

Sure, I can do that. Let me know if you are interested in higher resolution or regular comressed file. That picture is resized by the gallery's software but if you go to my gallery there is larger file there as well.

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Charlie,

Let me know what resolution your monitor is and I will resize it to that size.
I have to tell you that I do not have this particular shot saved in high resolution. But, I took some this morning and you can choose from three shots that I will add to this post.

I like them Gene! I will snap a picture for you tonight, if I can!

I am running the "True Actinics" from Geismann one is overdriven, the other not. I couldn't believe the POP, POW, WOW, of my greens and blues.... Even the red polyps of the Superman Monti are GLOWING RED!!!!

My Neon green Candy Cane is INSANELY bright, and the growing tips on the Blue Tort? WHo knew they were that bright!?

Can you tell I am pleased with that bulb yet...???

Don't know what hot toddy is but I sense it's nice and potent liquid gold of some kind....
I personally prefer bourbon in the winter time.

Anyways, couple of new pictures for the thread so it doesn't fall waay off line, or topic...
Couple of teasers for now as I'm on the way to the doctors appointment.

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Thanks for the link to your actinic shots, very nice shots I must add.

Do you think my last two shots are a bit too sharp ( meaning over sharpened)?
It doesn't look overly sharp on my screen that I just calibrated (it's LG 19" flat screen), maybe I need to graduate to a larger screen by some other maker...

Anyway, here's some more shots that I took the other day.
First, couple of new frags that I got the other day.

And here I have what seems like Psammocora that is making a comeback. I thought it was all but gone but I was mistaken...

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

And some random shots. First the A.nana pictured from the top, I could only get a section of it shooting from the top, though.

Right behind this A.nana colony I have small frag that is picking up steam and growing fast. Not sure what it is, though, but muy guess would be either A.sarmentosa or A.chesterfieldensis. It has nice green color with orange/red axial corolites.

And here's a shot where you can see the true size of that A.nana colony. I am glad I got frag of it back from my friend Ralph.

And one of my favorite corals, A.florida that I got about a year ago as a small colony.
