Charlie, taking shots of this coral has given me an agita so far. It's sort of behind some other coral so the camera is trying to front focus on that other coral and piece of live rock that is in front of that monti. It is very dence with the polyps so it's hard to tell what color the main body is, looks a bit yellowish/brown with blue polyps.., I like it. I will try to take another shot and post results a bit later.

Hey, I was just reading about your skimmer, I am glad everything is good with your granddaughter

Well, see what you can do, if not, you'll just have to send me a chunk later this year.
What kind of lite does it like?

Thanks Charlie!

Here's a partialview of the coral, hopefully I can take a better shot from the top soon.

That is a beautiful coral Gene!!!!

I'll wait as long as it takes, don't worry

How big was that thing when you got it? It looks like it has some growth!

Thanks Charlie!
This coral definately grew some. When I got it it had no plating growth but it does now. It is an encrusting/plating species, I think. It had also encrusted onto adjacent rock so it will be fun trying to move it...

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Sounds like a fragging project to me. Is it in high light, I imagine in person, the contrasting colors are nice. I had a cream colored/bright lime green polyps that was really nice too.

Charlie, the coral is almost directly under 250w 10K bulb(reeflux). It was a bit higher but fell off it's mount and I didn;t bother fixing it. So far so good.

I saw today on Dr.Mac's site some nice montie frags, and if I had a really large tank I would have definately gotten some of them. He had some nice red polyped frag that begged me to take it home...

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Thanks fellas!

Mike, if I remember correctly the lens was EF-S 60mm f2.8 macro from Canon. I still try with the 105mm Sigma but more often than not I end up being p***ed off at the results, so I started to practice more with that 60mm macro lens.

I think I'm going to try and sell that Sigma lens and hopefully get the 100mm from Canon ( if my wife don't kill me first ).

That just means you will have to keep a tank set up to justify the new lens. That means I can sit back and enjoy more pics.

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

You crack me up Charlie...

Well, here's one more of the coral that Mike liked.

And here's a picture of the snails that came with the live sand, Me thinks they are either Nassarius or the Ilyanasa obsoleta. Not sure at this point. They were just in the sand...

If anyone knows what this coral is please let me know...

And this frag was supposedly A.rosaria, so I marked it as such.

And Charlie, this is a picture of that A.pulchra.

Thanx for the pic of the pulchra, that is a beauty!!!!!! I am gonna guess and say loripes on the unknown, but I bet Kevin might have a better guess if he is around. Shoot him a PM maybe.

Thanx for the help tho, I called her this morning before I left for work, that ought to keep me out of the doghouse for a day or two.

Re: My tank is starting to look better, I think

Hey Charlie,

Here's my lates attempt at the picture of that monti, and probably the last. I got soaked by one of the fishes getting spoofed by the top down box.

I also managed to snap this shot, not sure what that blue coral will end up being. Looks like a mille to me but I'm most of the time wrong on id's.
