Re: how do you do boarders in CS2?

Hi James,

Do you mean frames? If so, I use Scott Kelby's technique described in his book. Just a couple of layers and you are done. If you like I can type step by step for you, alternatively, you can purchase frames actions for SC2 from fredmiranda called FM frames. Pretty cool frames.
You can find it here

Gene, can you give us an example of something that you have done? Also, how do you get the text on your photos. Hope you don't mind James.

Charlie, here's an example of a digital frame I used using Scott Kelby's tutorial in his book.

I put text on the image using horizontal type tool that you can select from the tools. Then it;s just selecting a font that you like and size, and type it in the spot you want it on. Color could be chosen using a color picker tool.

Re: how do you do boarders in CS2?

Gene,
Are you using the digital frames on page 402?
For some reason, I cannot get the rectangular marquee tool to come up for me in steps 3 and 4, which means I cannot create the frame size, I think.
What the heck am I doing??????????
When I press M to get the tool, it tells me that pixels were not selected therefore I can't create the frame.
Another thing, why does the saved product come out at 50.3 MB. Whew, I am confused.
Are you gonna be around tomorrow, sometime where I could give you a call, and maybe we could work thru this together??

Charlie, did you figure out what the problem is? I waited for your call but then realized that you probably don't have my phone number. Doh! PM me if you don't have it.
Call me sometime tomorrow if you still have problems and we can try to figure it out together.

And yes, I was talking about digital frame on page 402. To ger Marqee tool just press M on yor keyboard or click on the little rectangle in the tool palette. You should see a little cross instead of the pointer when you move your mouse.
As far as size of the file goes...have you resized your file before you try to create digital frame? and, was it a RAW file maybe? But then again, even RAW files are not that huge? Something is wrong but I'm not sure what. Did you save it as .jpeg file or something else maybe?

I gave it a shot on PhotoShop CS!
Is there a big difference with the CS2?

Re: how do you do boarders in CS2?

Looks really nice weez!!!!

Gene, The files are jpeg files at about 180kb. Theses are the ones I "saved for the web", off my original pics. I still have the originals, but they are at 1 something MB.
I was using the "save for web" pics because they are expendable, I can always make another off my orig. You guys taught me that.
I have an appt. at 10:30 my time today (12:30 yours). I do have your phone number. What time is good for you this afternoon?

Charlie, any time is OK bacause I'll be home most of the day, except from 2:30-3:15 in the afternoon.

Louise,
Those are nice frames but somewhat different from the ones described in the CS2 book. Nonetheless, it is not much different from CS.

Re: how do you do boarders in CS2?

Took me a while to figure out that you have to save the darn thing as a jpeg file, so this is kinda small
