Thanks! No, I hadn't lost faith :eek3:
It's taller than the others I've seen. I think the trick will be to use something like this and get rid of the hotshoe on the end, then drill that and put a bolt with a wingnut (or similar) to attach the lookdown box to the end of the bracket. Should be all of twelve bucks plus the cost of the box.

Greg, if you do something like that, make sure you post pics of the process.
Taller and black sides, I think that really helps with the reflection issues you talked about. It is actually an overflow box that hadn't been drilled yet. I got it from Kevin in Spokane. I know a guy in Seattle that makes top down boxes, I could send him the same pic with the dimensions and see if he could give it a go.

I accept: If you're doing close-ups I recommend aperture priority as a starting point. For close-ups, if you want a lot of the coral in sharp focus you need to use a small aperture- it's hard to say exactly what aperture but like Charlie says- it's easy to delete. So start with something like f11 or so and see how the pics turn out. If you want more of the coral in focus go smaller (bigger f-number, like f16 or f22 even). And This great pictures, thank you for sharing them. I will return to put the picture on your forum and you'll find them great.
Kind regards,
Gene.

Ashyupdu- looking forward to seeing how your pictures come out.
Gene- thanks! I still haven't gotten around to working on the top-down box yet. I'm going to be taking pictures for an lfs and we worked out a way to turn off the pumps so I won't even need a box. Here's a sample:
