Riding the storm out- Lorie's backyard pals

This was one heck of a thunderstorm that nite, 6PM to about 7PM

And while I was gone, both of our does decided that it was time to show off the kids.

Hey Rocky, those storm pics were taken in Lamar Colorado, almost down to your neck of the woods.

I almost wish I would have left my Canon at home, Lorie took those with her little Nikon.
That is actually 2 different does, one had twins and the one had just one. I haven't seen them yet, I am waiting tho!

I won't go that far.................. but if I did that in my backyard, Lorie would make a real bad example out of me
Do you see anything different I could have done with those storm shots Mike? I tried to get the Mcdonalds sign out of there.

This is going to sound strange, but I like the McDonalds sign, and actually want to see more of it. The sign provides scale. What I don't like is the whatever it is on the left edge.... I'll tell you what, that is one MEAN looking cloud, did it dump tons o rain on you?

Re: Riding the storm out- Lorie's backyard pals

It wasn't only the cloud on the left that dumped a ton of rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it would have been earlier in the year, we probably would have had a tornado warning. When I lived in Illinois, I used to hate clouds that looked like that.

Re: Riding the storm out- Lorie's backyard pals

I just went back in my room and closed the shades The lightning was pretty rude too, I wanted to try and get a pic, but me and lightning don't get along real well.

Re: Riding the storm out- Lorie's backyard pals

Wow, those were some crazy looking clouds! I'm not so scared of lightning, wind is what does for me, I usually head down to the dungeon!
My sister on the other hand really freaks out with lightning. I was at my mom's the other day and we were having a nasty thunderstorm and there was one crack that hit really close and I turned around and my sister was under the table so fast she hurt her hand!
Of course everyone in the house was laughing at her

Nice deer by the way, you're lucky to have them in your yard like that, our wildlife is the usual raccoons and ground hogs, and let's not forget those stinky little Peppy LePew's

Re: Riding the storm out- Lorie's backyard pals

Hey weez, as far as lightning goes, I have had the hair come up on the back of my neck 1 to many times. We can leave the lightning to itself!!!!

For the last 5 years, we have had at least 5 deer that make their home in our backyard. I looked out there early this spring and there were 7 deer out there. They just love Lorie's flowers too. That makes them real popular, but what the heck are you gonna do? I usually end up laughing real hard and having to go downstairs. I think if you look back to a couple of last years threads, we had a bear back there too, I think it was right after Labor Day.
