Thank you for the kind words. I use Nikon equipment. All the shots above were freehand on manual focus ISO1000 SS1/60 F11 with the 105mm Macro.
Other times I set-up a 30 gallon with blue or black inserts.....

Hi Wayne, welcome to our ADDICTION!
Nice pics, even if they are from Nikon. ;) All shooters are welcome here though!
Hi Wayne,
Great work on the fish pix!So, you use a special tank set up just for taking pictures fo the fish? Can you tell us how long it takes usually for the fish to come down so picture can be taken?
I thought about having a prop tank like that before but was always afraid of stressing subjects too much for the sake of photo session.![]()
Kind regards,
Gene.

It is simply a 30 gallon tank, with two sets of inserts, one black and one blue. A set is a bottom piece, and a back that fits the width, and a back that fit the length. Most of the small specimens I shoot on the width or narrow side, larger on the length side. The backs can be moved front to back...the more narrow the easier and quicker you can nab the shot. Key is to ensure the water and the fish come from the same system and that temp is consistent.

Welcome Aboard! I hope it works out well for you.
I have been to Wayne's shop several times, and I can tell you it easily one of the best LFS's in the state. I'd say top 2 in my experience actually. Healthy fish, great staff, and now the option to order online as well. Can't ask for more!

You guys are too much...![]()
Cameras don't matter much, it's the image taker that counts. ;)
But, having spent some cash on the Canon I must stick with it...![]()
Kind regards,
Gene.

I see how it is, you Canon boyz are pretty thick here....
As for the camera work, the guys at my shop claim the real work is the fish wrangling and that I am just the monkey behind the camera. They don't seem impressed with the manual focus thing at all.
I just can't seem to win.
You just HAVE to manual focus, cause the Nikon's AF can't keep up!
Kind regards,
Gene.

Some very nice shots Wayne.
Oh and I'm sorry....![]()
(for you using a Nikon, that is)
Just kiddin' bro...some nice lookin' shots and a cool way to market your fish (if that's what you are doing). Definitely makes the colors stand out. I take it you don't have any flow going on in the 30g when you shoot, right?
Oh, and good call on the Nikon AF, Mike. ;)(again, totally kidding Wayne)
I guess I can't talk considering the post I just put up. LOL
Keep the pics comin' Wayne!
