Fuji makes some nice cameras. The biggest complaint I hear about them is the operating system is hard to navigate.
Make sure to keep the camera sensor parallel to the glass to avoid distortion caused by refraction, like your snail shot.
Well I broke down and decided to use some of my x-mas bonus on a new cam instead of more aquarium stuff.

The menu is rather large, but I think the big issue there is people don't take the time to figure it out.
Yea, I'm still used to allover crappy pictures, so it'll take me a while to adjust.
