Sony Camera

Hello,

I've been taking a few pictures of my tank.. useing the flash which i think i shouldnt be using, and rather just go with the lighting that is in the room/tank. Please correct me if im wrong with this.

I have Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review . It seemed to be a pretty good cam when i bought it, but i've been pretty much just using the Automatic setting, and let the camera choose everything for me. But after reading a few posts on here i may be playing with some of the setting. From what you can see on the specs of hte camera though, should i be able to get some nice pics out of it?

I see this question has been sitting here for a while so I'll take a stab at it.
Quick answer is yes- you should be able to get nice pics for sure. You've got the ability to manually select your settings and you've got a nice lens. Next step is to learn some good technique. If you want to post a pic or two I can try to make some suggestions on how to improve them. Also, if you want to know how to take specific types of pictures I can point you in the right direction. By "type" I mean fish pics, coral close-ups, full tank shots, etc. Each of those types require different settings to get the best results.
