I recently got an iMac after using a PC for 16+ years. Although many functions are simpler, they are not always intuitive to a brain hard-wired by PC, and finding how to do a function that purposely is called something different can also be a challenge.
So, does anyone out there know how to re-size or resample a photo in iPhoto or Aperture to make the file size smaller without cropping? I promised to post new photos of my tank but the files are WAY too big.![]()

Hmmm... now that the tank is full, I could convert the pool to saltwater...

Thanks for trying, Gene. I had looked at all the tutorials when I got my iMac earlier this year - I went back after you reminded me, but alas, it seems Mac users never need to shrink a 5 MB photo file....
I guess I could dust off the old PC and Boot up Paint Shop Pro. I have Windows 7 installed in parallel on the iMac but my software edition of PSP is so old that Windows 7 spits it out. I can't see paying for an update just to shrink a file...
There has to be a way.... Calling all MacGeeks, calling all MacGeeks... Help.

I think I found something... I have the time to do some searching while waiting for my flight back home and found the Secret Apple Code Word "adjust size" - of course Apple and PC must always use alternate nomenclature...... And their search engines on the help files never have a translating function...
"resize" and "resample" are unintelligible to the iMac....
Now when I get home I can try to see if that works...

If all fails you can always open a free account in photobucket and use their software to resize and edit your images.
Also, I believe some of the Canon's editing software is made for PC and iMac.But I hear you on the Apple's help menus. Maybe they think all Mac users are genius?
Kind regards,
Gene.
