They are often called Lace corals the scientific name is Distichopora. I kept one (violacea) for a couple of years but was unable to provide its feeding requirements and it slowly died. They do not contain zooxanthellae.

Hey All,
I was just looking into the identity of the coral, with the purple snails on it.
They were sold to me as Stylaster corals. --The photo is of the smaller piece.
However, when looking up the coral in the Borneman Book - Pg 104-105 this doesnt look anything like the corals pictured.
Anyone have an ID of this.
