Sorry for the bad picture cant get a better one.
I know what an aptasia looks like had enough of them. But this one has a green disc. Never saw an aptasia other then brown.

I have a brown one in my tank like that and it's never spread. I decided it was a button polyp because it retracted slowly when touched - I've never had aptasia, but I was going by what others said about the speed the aptasia could retract. Now it really looks like a button - it's never moved from its spot even though it has to stretch towards the light.

Im afraid not that was just above the water level & zoomed as much as my camera will go.

I have some of those too, came in on some Rock, don't know what they are but they don't multiply very fast and don't seem to bother anything either

That pic looks like a button polyp to me.
Aptasia is very translucent pink/brown in color. They are 'glass anemones' and super pests!!!!!!! Keep an eye out on it. If it's dark brown and not translucent, you most likely do not have aptasia.....although you might have some elsewhere... - Elmo ![]() |
