Moving Day...
Well a few mo nths back I bought an acrylic TruVu tank and stand from paul ....his reefland screen name isnt coming to me but you know who ya are.... i finally moved my stock from my 20g nano and put it in the bigger tank yesterday. im not certain as to how many gallons it is but its somewhere between 55 and 65 id guess. its got the length of a 55g but its an octagon shaped tank. after a little elbow grease we got all the leftover coraline algae off the tank and it looks pretty nice if i do say so. i have it at the foot of my bed so i can wake up and watch the fish. all of the coral seem as if the tank shift didnt bother them at all. the tree coral acted as if i didnt even pick it up it stayed full bloom throughout the entire deal. star polyps, sinularia, galaxea and mushrooms are all doing well. my finger leather looks a little stressed but im confident he'll bounce back. my black false percula clowns love the extra swimming space and my newly acquired blue tang loves it. the tangs the size of a dime so he looks tiny in the new tank. ever since i bought him he hasnt left the clowns side....its like hes their brother from another mother. on the 20g i was just running 2X55w PC's (1 blue 1 white) ....now i'm running the same 2X55w pc's and a 110W VHO as well. i have about 60lbs of dead sand in there plus 30+lbs of live sand......and somewhere between 20-25lbs of live rock. i want to add more live rock so i can raise some of these corals up a bit and add some more corals as well. all in due time though. i want to make sure this is all settled in before i start adding more live rock. dont want to cause any unnecessary spikes. i ran acrossed a rather odd worm of some sort the other day.....dont really know how to describe it.....the tail end looked like a cigarette butt...but then itd stretch out its other end making it look like a dogs reproductive organ....very odd i watched it in the tank for a while before i put it back in the main tank. very odd thing i must admit. i found it in the sand bed so i didnt think it could hurt much. if my brother brings his digicam down ill get some pics for ya so you can take a look. just thought id share what ive been up to. its been a while since i had time to get on here because of school.
