Hey Matt!
We all feel your pain bro as this is what a lot of us has experienced over the last couple of months. There isn't a hole lot you can do; sometimes removing them to quarantine will help but typically once it starts it doesn't stop. Do a search for RTN to view some recent discussions around this. Sorry I know that's not the answer your looking for, |

![]() I'll see if I can takea a picture. Hopefully it will heal back. It's been growing nicely, too ![]() - Elmo |

Thanks for the reply's...
AS far as I know the bleaching started about 3 months ago. The first coral bleach out totally in 2 days. The one in the pic,(left) started about 3months ago and has only made it half way up. The Puprle tip just started last week. I recieved several Frags from another member and almost everyone of the frags bleached out. The only thing that I have that is still doing good is my Orange Cap. This experiance is really upsetting. I dont think I will be buying anymore SPS's. I have lost alot of money so far...sucks! Matt Everything that I have tested for the last few months has been perfect. So I have no clue? Last edited by LittleDevil; 05-31-2003 at 09:41 AM. |

I usually do one or two things. Frag 1 inch above the RTN line. 2. Use super glue and seal it off inch above the line and cover the necrosed area. I have saved several colonies doing this. It is not atractive at forst but they do recover from this. It is also not orthodox but I am having success with it. You could also swap the area with Iodine prior to applying the cyanoacrylic bandage.

Matt, what kind of lighting are you using?? What kind of lighting did these corals come from when you got them. Bleaching is sometimes from a acropora not acclimating to the new environments. Be that lighting, current, etc. I would definitely frag that purple tip in hope of saving some of it. Still though the problem whatever it is is still unknown. Is there anything that you have changed in the last 3 months?? Acropora are sometimes very hardy but if the conditions are not right they will surely let you know it by doing what you seem to be experiencing. Sorry you are having this problem.
