I do not have any dwarf angels with my clams but I have a regal and scribble angel with my clams. They both have no interest in clams.

When I had clams in my 120g I still have the false lemonpeel that was in there with them. This fish did not bother any of the clams.
In my 180g where all my clams are I have a Potters angel in with them. It is the same fish that went in with my copperband after the tank went up. This Potters has also been a model reef citizen. No interest in the clams or any of the sps. Good fish, good fish... ![]() |

I have 19 clams in my tank. I also have a Cherub angel, an Atlantic Flameback angel, and a Majestic angel in my tank (450g) All three are doing great, eats a lots and does not bother any of my clams.

I have a flame angel in my quarantine tank and will be adding to my main tank soon. The purpose for putting it in the quarantine tank is to train it to feed pellets first if not it might go after the clams and brains!
I once had a golden angel and it attacked my brains like nobody's business. Therefore golden angel is a no no! But dwaft angel is a 50/50 risk. That's why we have to train them to eat pellets so that they wont be that hungry to taste our clams and so on. |

Well, I have a Coral beauty in my 75g tank with two clams and had no problems so far.Although Daniel Knop mentioned this particular fish as a potential clam nipper,I have never seen it happen in my tank. Maybe I'm just lucky? It does eat anything I give him,but he prefers to graze and I make sure I have nori available every day in the letuce clip. I've never kept any other dwarf angels exept the one I mentioned. Some people report of Flames nipping at corals and clams but mine never showed any interest in the large Trachyphyllia I have there either.

Angels in a reef tank is not entirely safe. Some are safer than others. I had luck with both Atlantic and Pacific Flameback, Flame angel, Cherub angel, and Coral Beauty. Larger angles, I have keep Majestic angel without problem. All these angles were keep with mainly SPS and Clams. I don't have many LPS or Solf corals. Meaty corals like Brain Corals are more likely get bother or kill by angels.
