Cuke eviscerated....
Well the other day when my shipment came in i had 3 cukes....i acclimated them all the same way and 2 went in 1 tank and 1 went in the other tank....ive had cukes before and acclimated them all the same way and 2 of them eviscerated....one from each tank....i wasnt here when they came in but my mom was and she told me that the fed ex guy was carrying the box on edge...so this makes me think that they were all stressed during shipment. luckily i came in right when the first cuke finished the evisceration....i quickly scooped up the intestine etc and did a 7 gallon h20 change....a day later all fish corals snails and hermits look fine. i dont see my fish being a problem because we had the same species and size of cukes w/ these same fish before but our cuke died during a salinity fluke. now both of the cukes are still in the tank but i dont know if thats the right thing to do. i have a 10 day gaurentee on them but my question is dont they regenerate their organs?? the ones body still looks full but he isnt moving or anything. and the other looks a little more battered. one end is rather blown out and his body is very much limp. i would just buy these at a store but i have hit every lfs that i know of and none of them ever get in these cukes any more and my tanks need them right now. the sand looks nasty and i dont trust bigger hermits and snails are too unpredictable...which is why i like the cukes because they are just sand sifters. what do you guys think. your help is greatly appreciated.
