wow aerate it? will any powerhead be good to aerate? you by this that i put it in a big bucket or something and put a powerhead in it for 2 days to mix it up well? i used to just mix and pour it in. let me know how i should go about doing this cause 20% is 10 gallons thanks

hey aerating the water before the change neccessary? i do not have an extra powerhead and was wondering if that was a must or if i could just mix it up and change water right away. thanks John

Hi John,

Aerating freshly mixed water is a good thing to do. I usually do it to age the water a little and reach O2 and CO2 equilibrium. I usually just drop an PHead in the contaner and let it circulate the water for about 48 hours. If you don't have an extra one(time to get one as you can use the cheapest one you can find for this)
Avoid if you can adding water right after mixing,although some people do it but I don't. Some particles of the salt need more time to dissolve,hence the waiting period. I usually mixed it couple of days in advance.
