I already sent my emails to CBS, Tetra USA and Tetra Germany. I don't know what good it will do other than make them aware that some people recognize their irresponsible behavior for what it is, pure commercial opportunism.
A couple of years ago I posted a picture of a small Eclipse System aquarium from the Marineland corporate website -- they're the same company that owns Aquatic Systems, the people who make Instant Ocean salt. This particular picture, which was a phony composite made up by some idiot in marketing, showed an Eclipse aquarium with about 17 fish in it, including several tangs and butterflyfishes. About a week after I emailed the company, the picture was removed from the website. I never did receive a reply to my email, however, which was somewhat polite -- for me, anyway! I don't remember the exact wording of my email to Marineland but I'm sure it was similar to my email to Tetra: "I was disgusted and dismayed to see your representative, Ms Carol Huntley-Weber, place a Blue Tang, two Clownfish, two Seahorses and a Seastar into such a small aquarium on the CBS Early Show. Such irresponsible behavior from an industry representative is inexcusable and a reflection on your company's total lack of concern for the welfare of the hobby. "You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Such idiots!" OK, for me, that's about as polite as it gets. ![]()

Reply I just received from Tetra:
Thank you for writing to us about Tetra's appearance on the CBS Early Show. The brevity of the segment prevented us from covering all of the points that we would have liked to cover. Tetra understands that setting up any aquarium is a complicated process and we refer people to responsible sources of information, such as a local retail pet professional or www.tetra-fish.com for more detailed information.Your point is well taken. I can assure you that we will consider your concerns in all of our future endeavors.Sincerely,Tetra Consumer Relations

FWIW, I did not expect anything different from this people, Ninong
Way too much money and way too little concern for the welfare of the hobby and creatures that they put in danger ![]()

Oh, I almost forgot to post my reply to Tetra's reply:
I don't suppose you are aware of the fact that there is NOTHING on your site that you linked as a source of "more detailed information" about the care of marine fish or the proper preparation of a marine fish aquarium. Maybe that's why your rep forgot to mention anything about salt on the CBS program. She did mention something about using plain old tap water and Tetra's tap water conditioner but I guess she didn't have time to explain about the salt thing in detail. Glad to know that information is hidden somewhere on your website. No wonder Pfizer dumped you guys! Good move on their part.
