fan question

ok ive got 2 small computer fans that i would like to use under the hood when the lights come on to minimize both water loss and increase water temperature. the question is what is the best way to set them up? should i use both next to each other blowing air in? out? one blowing in on one side and the other blowing out on the other side of tank etc etc.
thanks again

I'm thinking 2 in on one side and a large area for output on the other. HTH

Do you have a glass or open top? If you have a glass top 1 in 1 out is fine. If you do not I would have both blow in and have a hole in the back of the canopy for the hot air to escape. This keeps salt creep from ruining your fans over time. I think you will also need to find a transformer to run those 12 volt fans.

ooops

yea thanks about the transformer tip except it was a little too late. i assumed they needed no such and wired them to a regular cable. result: fire! damn it! no i will just go and buy a small fan and stick in the back. it is a canopy top without glass cover. thanks J

ooops gotta hate that!!!!

I remember when I was about 11 I wanted to hear Electricity and wire a speaker directly to an outlet!!!

Boom!!!! then a really nasty smell and the speaker was fused and would no longer move!!!

Good luck on the Fan hunt I think Radio Shack has some AC fans that are not as nice as the Icecap but they will certainly work!!!
