Howdy again. I was wondering, if I did see one amphipod in my refugium on the rock, how much more do you think is possibly there? The rock is next to a strong flow that pours into filter paper down to the pump inlet. Is there any other way to get more? I never see any of such things in my tank.

There is a 99% chance if you saw one there are many more you did not see. Also check the main tank after the lights have gone out. Look closely at the sand bed using a flashlight and you may be surprised at all the tiny life you have in your tank.
Most critters will learn to hide during the day when your fish are awake to prevent being eaten. Regards, Kevin

I agree w/ Kevin you probably only see less than 5% of these micro critters if your lucky. I have found w/pods and critters like this the more macro algae you have in a system the more prolific they are wether its in a fuge or the main tank.
