My 60 Gallon Cube Upgrade

So I finally finished building my 60 gallon cube that i picked up for 80 bucks. Here it is. I'm starting to fill the tank this week, and then will add sand and rock this week and get ready for the cycle. The contents of my 20 gallon, which I've had for a year will move to this new tank once it cycles. I'll put up another post with pics of my 20. I'd like to thank everyone here, you've all helped on this tank. The flash wasn't working too well so I'll take better pics of the plumbing under the tank later. The ones from last night didnt come out too well.

Do you think that water level looks like a problem? Its slightly higher on the left side?

Ooooh YEAH! I really like that tank! Maybe I missed it but what type of lighting you gonna use on it? Your powercompacts from your old tank?

Oh yea, I haven't gotten lights yet, but I was thinking of using a single 400W MH with a 20K bulb in a pendant hanging from ceiling. Open top. No acintic supplementation. What do you think? Is that goign to work, I've never had MH before so that's why I haven't gotten it yet, I'm still researching it.

Since the tank is still empty I would try and get it leveled with some shims under the stand.

I am actually concerned with that too. Its on carpet which is uneven. I filled the tank up all the way, and the water level evened out a little from side to side, now it looks like its about 1/4 to 1/2 inch uneven from front to back. I guess I'll let it sit for now and hope it settles into the carpet after another day or so. Do I need to be worried about the tank failing because of this?

Hey that is a nice looking setup you have there. I think $80 was a good price for that tank too.

As far as leveling the tank goes, i would agree with trying to get it as level as possible now since it is empty. I think as long as it is fairly close and the trim hides the rest when it is full, you should have nothing to worry about. You don't have any issues with trying to get even flow for multiple overflows. I think you are good to go!!

Can't wait to see pics once it is up and running.
