I got some new fish (directly from the wholesaler's, via a friend) and they've been in quarenteen for 5 days now. I plan to keep them there 3-4 weeks. They aren't showing any signs of illness, are bright and eating very well. My question is, do I medicate them anyway? Or do I just wait and see if they break out with something, and if not, put them in the main tank after a month? It doesn't make sense to me to treat for a disease that isn't manifested, but I wouldn't want to put them in the main tank then have them break out with something--probably ich--then.
Thanks

When I quarentine my fish I dont treat for any thing unless needed and so far sicne I started doing my quarentining I have not had to treat for anything which is probably good since I use live rock in tank so would have to pull it out to treat for stuff.
The galic in the food is a good idea but I have never used galic before my self but have heard lots of good stuff about using it. I have sone just in case it is ever needed though. |
