    Hey Wind

Here is a link that shows the Specs for an Iwaki 30RXT

    http://www.aquarium-supply.biz/PDF/WMD3040.pdf

From the looks of it you should use 1" for your input/output sides of the pump. as far as your overflow you need to give us some more specs and what kind of flow rates you want to have. If you make your Durso stand pipe a 1 1/4 then you can probably get about 800-1200 GPH through there no problem so at about 6' of head on your Iwaki you should be able to get about 950 gph so that sounds like it would work ok.

ehh not so sure about head loss hehe =I sorry...
i know there's a chart to calculate.. i have a 90 gallon tank.. and not sure how much flow it'll have.. in terms of the return....

ill put the valves after the output right?? how about before the input? do i need a valve??

so i use the pvc size that is on my pump right??? no need to bush or reduce and what not?? hehehe

p.s. sorry for so much questions.. but thanks very much..

    thanks very much..

Put ball valves before and after the pump as well as unions so you can change out or clean the pump if needed w/out haveing to replumb everything, just make sure that you never throttle down the ball valve on the input side of the pump while the pump is powered up....if you need to throttle it down always do it on the output side of the pump. Im not real familiar w/ Iwaki pumps but I dont think that they come w/any plumbing, maybe some others could comment that have experience plumbing Iwaki pumps.
