Gene, that is some wild growth going on, on that green millepora. See the difference. The thick, uniform type branches vs. the other.

We need to do some trading.

Tank looks great.

Ha, I know of many things that I want from your tank but I'm not sure what would you like to have from mine

In regards to quoting from some text, just highlight the portion of the text you like to quote by holding a left button of the mouse and then right click on the highlited text and in the drop down menu choose copy and rightclick that choice. Then, when you typing your post, on the top of the window(just bellow small windows that shows color, font, size) there is icons which you can use to manipulate your text, move your pointer over some of them to see wich one does what( ) and choose insert quote, click on that and the small dialog box will appear with the narrow window where you can type or paste your quote.Rightclick on that narrow window and from the drop down menu select paste and richtclick that choice(the text will appear in that narrow window.Click OK and it will be in your post. However,if you just like to paste some text, then just use either cut or highlight the portion of the text and copy it and then just rightclick in the window where your post is and choose paste:the text will be there.

Sheesh,I think I confused myself

Gene,

VERY cool shots. 1246 and 47 are my personal favorites. That "fuzzy" one in 47 looks REALLY big. And I agree w Sue on your green millepora -- it's taking over the neighborhood!

Thank you, Rebecca

The fuzzy in the 1247 is a Pocillopora damicornis wich I got from SueT as a frag last year.I had other pieces growing out from it but trade them away,it is not very big however(about 4")-camera tricks
And you're right about millepora-it is the weirdest growth form I've seen so far

Very nice Gene!
Man that first shot is a money shot there bro....I dont care how easy, and common montipora caps and digi are there is still nothing like them when it comes to photos or beauty IRL. I just hope I will have some more caps soon....I miss my caps!

Thank you, Rocky!

The caps are quickly outgrowing my tank and reminding me that I still have a dream of a bigger tank I just recieved a purple cap in the trade and it will probably outgrow its space before I finally get that promissed space for a bigger tank
As you can tell,I love the monties and don't care if they are easy or common. FWIW.

Actually I'm not even sure it is a Montipora capricornis , I'm not sure if you can tell from the full tank pic,but I have three different spiecies of plating Montipora. The small frag of the purple color that I recieved in the trade may very well be the capricornis but who knows For the life of me,I can't tell the difference
Maybe I'll send you some frags when you're ready and then you'll tell me

So...,hurry up and get that tank going so I can send you my corals for id confirmation

Gene,

I have the 3-volume set AND the companion CD.

You will die if I tell you how much I paid. I paid only $81 for the 3-volume set, including air express shipping from Australia, and $15 for the CD, including air shipping from Australia. I ordered the books more than a year before they were printed and I ordered the CD two years before it was ready in response to a special offer they sent me.

Oh, I almost forgot, my nephew, the college student at the time, ordered those books. He had to send a copy of his college registration. For some reason it didn't matter that he was majoring in criminal justice instead of marine biology.

I can't top this,Ninong I do not have the CD nor I pay that little for my set but it is worth the money I paid for it, many times over(just pics alone provide alot of enjoyment for me). Not that it helped me alot in the taxonomy....yet

Here's a little tip for you: That website with the search feature is basically the same as the CD.

Ninong,

Here's something for you to practice on(while you're waiting on water to clear up some),I've failed miserably in trying to id,or better yet, to even get close to an id
It is an ORA frag of a Acropora, stughorn growth form, brown in coloration with lighter color(blue in my case) axial corallites and radial corallites are arranged in somewhat uniform pattern down the branches and the radial corallites seem like the same size to my eye(untrained)
Possible candidate in my eye is the A.valenciennesi p.226 or the
A.acuminata p.230. Or... maybe a A.formosa

Well, here's a pic, I know it's a bit blurry but it is as close as i could get from the top down view

It's hard to say from just that picture but check out A. nobilis: http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch...20pages/52.htm
