unsympathetic/heartless cleaner shrimp?
my hippo tang has some kind of parasite and is trying to dock in front of a cleaner shrimp. All that is happening is the shrimp's antennas touching the tang. Is cleaning being done? or does the shrimp need to pick with claws? If no cleaning is being done, what can I do to help? add another cleaner shrimp? the shrimp is new to the tank and has been cleaning (eating) my tank constantly (maybe he doesn't need more food). Please help save my tang, he's fighting with a lot of heart. Thanks a lot.

I had a CB shrimp that took awhile to get use to my tang. At first he would snip at the tang but after awhile he would grab on to the tang and float around with it.
If the tang is offering to the shrimp I'm sure it won't be long before the shrimp catches on and helps out. He'll use his claws when he starts cleaning. Good Luck. RadioPlay |
