Sump Light

I am currently using one of the small halogen lights you get from Home Depot over my sump. It gets extremely hot and the light is too yellow. I need a small footprint flourescent light that will go over my 29 gallon sump. I think powercompact would be the trick. On my 75 gallon i use a 500 watt LOA light from Wal Mart that works wonders, but unfortunately it will not fit over my 29 gallon sump, there is only 10-12 inches of area to pop a light and the height clearance is not that great either. Any ideas ?

Why do you want to light your sump?

There is macro algea and rock in there. Kinda like a mini refugium. Actually there is a good amount of algea in a cluster attached to rock.

That's actually good, since macroalgae favor the yellow and red spectrum (lower Kelvin). Might not be pleasant for the eyes, but you are trying to favor macroalgae growth for nutrient export, right?

I would go with a lower end Kelvin PowerCompact too. The would resolve size and heat.
